Experience
Les Murray is a registered patent attorney and an experienced corporate lawyer. Before joining the firm, he spent fourteen years with Hewlett-Packard (rising to Senior Corporate Counsel for Intellectual Property) and, prior to that, he spent eight years with IBM in San Jose, California (where he became Senior Corporate Patent Counsel). He also practiced with the law firm of Schroeder, Davis & Orliss in Monterey, California. Mr. Murray served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years before retiring in 1980 holding the rank of Lt. Commander. He is admitted to practice in the states of Idaho and California and before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
Mr. Murray has deep professional experience in all phases of intellectual property value creation, strategy, and transactions, including foreign and domestic patent applications. He also has an extensive background with domestic and foreign patent licensing programs; analysis of patent, copyright and trademark infringement issues; contract matters; product planning matters; and Open Source licensing. Mr. Murray is licensed to practice in the states of Idaho and California.
