BOISE, Idaho – Zarian, Midgley and Johnson, PLLC (Zarian Midgley) has expanded its practice in Idaho by adding Lane Chitwood, a registered patent attorney, to the law firm. The addition further strengthens Zarian Midgley’s position as Idaho’s leading law firm specializing in intellectual property matters (especially patent law) and intellectual property litigation, as well as complex business litigation.
Lane Chitwood comes to Boise from Portland, Oregon, where he spent the last four years as an associate with Klarquist Sparkman, LLP. His practice focuses on intellectual property matters and complex litigation. His litigation experience includes patent, trademark, copyright, unfair competition, fraud, contract and licensing disputes.
Chitwood has represented clients in courts across the country, including California, Colorado, Delaware, Massachusetts, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington. He worked as an extern for the International Trade Commission and the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences, and as a patent examiner intern for the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
Chitwood received his Juris Doctor (cum laude) from Georgetown University in 2005 and his Bachelor of Science in both Engineering/Physics and Philosophy (summa cum laude) from Northwest Nazarene University in 2002. In addition to his legal work, Chitwood is a licensed private pilot.
